Office of Labor-Management Enforcement
The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) conducts both civil and criminal investigations of alleged violations of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA) and related laws.
These investigations by OLMS District Offices involve issues such as embezzlements of union funds, union officer elections, the filing of required reports by unions and others with OLMS, and the imposition of trusteeships over subordinate unions by a parent body. These investigations may result in legal enforcement actions.
Date Description
April 4th, 2007 On April 4, 2007, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma, Nathaniel Marc Greene, former President of AFGE Local 2562, pled guilty to one count of making a false statement. Greene admitted that he knowingly and willfully made or used a false writing or document and knew the local’s Form LM-3 contained a materially false statement or entry at the time he made or used the report. Restitution will be determined at sentencing which has not yet been scheduled. The plea agreement follows a joint investigation by the OLMS Dallas District Office and the Veterans Affairs’ Office of Inspector General.
