On July 18, 2016, in the United States District Court for the Central Region of Illinois, Jerry L. Conner, former President of Teamsters Local 279 (located in Decatur, Ill.), was sentenced to one year probation, fined $2,500, and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $26,009. On February 5, 2016, Conner pled guilty to a one-count information for falsifying union records in violation of 29 U.S.C. 439(c). The sentencing follows a joint investigation by the OLMS Chicago District Office and the Department of LaborÕs Office of Inspector General.
