On June 28, 2022, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Dorothy Ferguson, former Treasurer of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 2516 (located in El Paso, Tex.), was sentenced to three years of probation. She was also ordered to pay $16,604 in restitution. On March 29, 2022, Ferguson pleaded guilty to one count of theft within special maritime and territorial jurisdiction, in violation of 18 U.S.C. 661.
